The Lost Continent: The steamer drifts into the seaweed suffocated Sargasso Ocean and finds a lost continent with a secluded ancient culture acquired from Spanish monarchy. Excellent cast handles uneven script straight-faced. Cast includes Eric Porter, Hildegard Knef, Suzanna Leigh, Tony Beckley, Nigel Stock, and Neil McCallu. (89 minutes, 1968)

The Rock: General Francis Hummel is angry with the U.S. government for not honoring men he has because they died during covert operations. He is so angered by this rebuke that he takes a group of tourists visiting the now closed prison of Alcatraz, and holds them hostage. He plans to unleash poisonous gases upon the city of San Francisco if his demands are not met. The unlikely team of a biological weapons expert, and a former prisoner of Alcatraz, must sneak onto the island and attempt to thwart the plot.

Stage Fright: Theater student Wyman turns covert sleuth because an actress’ spouse is killed. There are some stimulating scenes however the Mr. Hitchcock misses on this one. Scrooged: A humorous take on the famous Dickens novel, A Christmas Carol. Set in modern times, Frank Cross runs a TV station, and doesn’t really appreciate the Christmas spirit. The three ghost of Christmas past, present and future join forces to set Frank straight.

A Good Woman: Strange rendition of Oscar Wilde’s Woman Windermere’s Fan, which has been filmed a few times over the years, set in Italy instead of England and updated from the 1890s to the 1930s. A number of Wilde’s British characters now are Americans. Cast includes Helen Seek, Scarlett Johansson, Milena Vukotic, Stephen Campbell Moore, Mark Umbers, Tom Wilkinson, and Diana Hardcastle.
