An Overview Of Rodin Museum
Rodin Museum is specially made for the famous 1800s French artist Auguste Rodin. It highlights his 50 years of work and contribution to sculpture.
In fact, there are two museums featuring Rodin’s art, Paris’ Rodin Museum and the other one situated in Meudon.
Rodin Museum is exactly seated at 77 Rue de Varenne. To get there, you need to pass the Paris Metro System and get off at the Varenne Metro Station. From there, it will only be few walks away from the Rodin Museum.
Aside from its art collections, the structure of the Rodin Museum alone is sought to be visited.
The 18th century building was supposedly made as a residence. It is built in the center of three-acre gardens, each facing three sides of the building.
Rodin Museum visitors are equally amazed by the art collections as well as roaming around the gardens. A lot of Auguste Rodin’s works have been moved to the garden to add an artistic touch to the naturally wonderful set up of the garden.
Nearly all of the artworks showcased in Rodin Museum are by Rodin like The Kiss, The Hand of God, The Cathedral and The Thinker. Some pieces also belong to another 18th century French artist, Camille Claudel.
The Rodin Museum in Paris has different opening times in summer and winter. From April to September the Rodin Museum is open from 9.45 am to 5.45pm. The Gardne is open until 6.45pm. Opening hours from October to March are an hour shorter with the museum closing at 4.45pm and the garden closing 15 minutes after.
Minors or those below 18 years old can enter without charge. Standard ticket or that of adults costs 6 euros, 4 euros for reduced tickets. If you opt only to enter the garden, you would have to pay only a 1 euro.
