Don’t Overlook These Entertaining Children’s Films

Movies that are excellent for the entire family are not as plenteous as many of the others. The films that are rated G are rarely found. Though, lots of of the finest family films have a rating of PG, meaning parental direction. That means these movies are more fun when you view as a family unit.

A real classic family movie that has remained famous throughout the years is “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”. This movie was first out in 1937 and over the past 6 decades it has been reissued eight times. “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” is a masterpiece and it is actually the 10th best-selling movie of all times.

One of the most famous family film series is the “Shrek”account. “The greatest fairy tale never told” has entertained us all, young and aged both. The charming prince is less than appealing and the ogre is the champion. At the end we all learned that love transcends our outward look. The all-star cast of Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz and Eddie Murphy keeps us amused.

First there was the original “Shrek” in 2001, followed by “Shrek 2″ in 2004. “Shrek the Third” came out in 2007. Two more movies are considered and in the works now. “Shrek, Forever After” coming out in 2010 and 5th installment, promised to be the final in 2013.

Pixar has also brought us some momentous movies, including “Finding Nemo” from 2003, its most well-liked picture to date and “Monsters, Inc.” from 2001. Other distinguished films from Pixar are “The Incredibles”, “Cars” and the most recent release “Up”.

Going beyond cartoons there are a few family films that every family should see. The film “Charlotte’s Web” came out in 2006. It is very truthful version of the brilliant book by E.B. White. It is a “must see” for each family.

Another celebrated family show is on the best-selling films list of all times and all genres. “E.T., The Extra-Terrestrial” is from the year 1982. It is a sci-fi journey that captures the imagination of childhood, a true classic for your family unit library.
