Brynner gives the acting job of a generation, and was rewarded with an Oscar reconstructing his Broadway role. Kerr is charming and her harmonizing voice was dubbed by Marni Nixon. Melodies contain “Hello, Youthful Lovers,” “Getting to Know You,” “Shall We Dance.” Cast includes Deborah Kerr, Yul Brynner, Rita Moreno, Martin Benson, Terry Saunders, Rex Thompson, and Alan Mowbray. Holes: Boy from an offbeat family is sent to an odd desert camp where it’s trusted that digging holes will develop one’s character.
