How To Persuasively Astound Any Audience With This Amazing Magic Trick

This powerful yet simple trick will be a great way to entertain the crowd and solidify your magical presence. You will convince them you have the strength of the gods and the magical abilities of Houdini with this simple yet crowd pleasing trick. It also works great as a lead in to a more difficult trick.

Now you have got the whole crowd’s interest. You explain that you have not too long ago had a vision, and the ghost of Hercules has loaned you his awesome power for a period. And that you have decided to utilize his borrowed energy to captivate the crowd rather than for individual gain. As you brag more and more, they become more and more dubious. Surely you are making this up. You produce a pack of ordinary cards. Obviously, you shuffle them a couple of times, showing they are a regular deck of cards. You call on the strength of the gods one last time, and then effortlessly tear the cards in half, hurling them in the air. The crowd is amazed, and you are a hero. The men will wish they were you, and the ladies will wish they were with you.

However, this is an optical illusion, and here’s how to do it. The deck will need to be set up before hand, so that it looks normal to the untrained eye, but is significantly less strong so you can easily tear it in half. You can do this a couple ways. The first way is to take a straight razor, and cut every other card halfway across. Make sure the cards are all lined up, so that the cuts are all in the exact same spot. They will shuffle the same, but with every other card pre cut, you can very easily tear them.

Another way to organize the deck is to heat up the cards in an oven. They will turn out to be more crisp this way, and will be much less complicated to tear, but won’t seem any different. Additionally, you can take every other card, and fold it back and forth a number of times. You’ll have to be careful that each card has been folded in the exact same spot, or else they will be difficult to tear.

This technique works best when you are in the middle of a few additional card tricks, although you don’t really need to do it that way. It would certainly just seem strange if you were to suddenly talk about tearing a deck of cards in half, and then not be able to do any tricks following that. You’re friends might believe it a bit peculiar if you merely produced a deck of cards, tore them in half, and then began talking about sporting events or something.

And as with any other strategy the way you build this up will have a considerable impact on how impressed people will be. The more enjoyable a story you can tell, the greater reaction you’ll get from the crowd. Mind power, alien strength, ghouls of magicians past are all great ways to add to the entertainment, and keep them from guessing the trick. For best results, fling the cards in the air after you’ve ripped them up. This will be significantly more remarkable, and will be a wonderful diversion for whatever the following trick is that you have up your sleeve. Have fun.
