How to Use a Ring Stick

It’s a stick, as the name suggest, that’s slender at the top and gets progressively wider going down the stick.  The size of the ring is determined thru which part of the stick it stopped when you put it in the stick.  The ring size is the same as the size of the width of the stick. 

This is important when you are weaving a ring because you need to figure out the size of the ring band before you ultimately finish the band.  If you had at first connected the band to the other side of the ring, next thing you need to do is to put the ring on the ring stick to check its size. 

If there isn’t any issue with the size of the ring, you have nothing more to do than to finish the band.  However, if the size is too big, attempt to disconnect the band and scale back the number of beads in the pattern.  You need to disconnect the band and increase the pattern to increase its size if it is too tiny. 

You can see the great use of a ring stick in saving your time while weaving a ring band.  It is strongly recommended to employ a wooden ring stick rather than the metal one.  The latter may cause scratches over the crystal beads.
