Make Handmade Candle Mold

Aluminum molds are very common since these are tough and heat hardy.  If you don’t need any flaws in your home-produced candles and you need that smooth finished look, aluminum molds are for you.  Clean up is a breeze with this type of mold, which means you can wash quickly and use them again for next time.  Metal molds are lightweight enough to be stowed away in cabinets and even the kitchen storeroom.  You can stack these metal molds inside your stockroom or in your cupboard without worrying about deformation during storage. Proficient candle makers use metal molds for mass assembly of high quality candles.  The only setback with using aluminum molds is the fact that they aren’t flexible.

There are many other kinds of molds you can use for creating your candles.
Silicone, polyurethane and latex molds are other mold types you can utilize for your candle creating.  These are flexible and easier to use than aluminum molds, albeit more expensive.  This means you don’t have to use as much releasing agents to get the candle out.  The high grade molds made of silicone can be stretched around the candle edges.  Polyurethane molds don’t stretch as much as silicone molds however they are a lot cheaper and more readily available in craft stores. Rubber molds used to be common, however now that there are more options, these aren’t used as frequently as before.

Plastic molds are the easiest to find and the least expensive among the mold types.  Small plastic containers around your house, even those you plan on throwing out, can be utilized as candle molds.  These can serve as your candle molds for the time being while you’re honing your craft.  If you want to recycle your old household items, turn them into candle molds.  Almost any old container can be used as a mold for your candles.
