Nitro RC Boats

Want to regain a bit of your childhood? Try RC boats they are not just for kids. Many full-grown adults like to play with adult versions of children’s toys. With nitro remote control boats, rc boats are not just for kids anymore. Nitro RC Boats are a far cry from the little boats many of us played with when we were younger.

Nitro remote control boats are remote control boats powered by nitrous fuel. Yup, this is the same stuff that is used in drag racing. Nitro radio controlled boats can be quite expensive and require more maintenance than simpler electric remote control boats. Although they are a little faster than there gasoline powered brothers, they are just as fun.

Once you’ve gotten your radio controlled boat in the water and are racing it around you’ll definitely feel like it was not a waste of time getting involved. This isn’t a sport or hobby for the weak or faint of heart. Controlling a nitro RC boat that approach speeds of 70 + miles per hours is not an easy thing to do. There is no camera to watch, and you are afforded no cockpit view like in the racing video games.

You have to keep an eye on your boat and and where it is on the racecourse. You also have to pay attention to the competitors around you. When racing, everyone has pay attention to both their own boat and their surroundings. Nitro boats may be small but they can be dangerous as well.

Of course, there are other things to be concerned with before racing the boat. Fuel handling procedures have to be followed so that the danger of a fire or explosion is avoided. The seriousness of this problem can not be overstated, especially when dealing with nitrous fuel. Its not that gas is any less flammable but nitrous tends to burn a little quicker and hotter. After all while gas is used to fuel vehicles nitrous is used to boost performance when combined with gas, so it’s no wonder it burns quicker.

Improper handling of the fuel during any stage whether it be storage, fueling, or usage can be dangerous. These warnings are not meant to discourage you from using nitrous fuel, it is only a request that you pay attention, use your common sense and be careful around flammable materials. Generally it is people who refuse to follow these simple guidelines when handling these substances that end up getting hurt.

Competing with nitro remote control boats can be a lot of fun though. You can really have fun either racing your boat or just cruising on the lake. If you can’t go out on the open seas you can use one these little radio controlled monsters to get a great boating experience. I use the term monster quite literally the higher end models are capable of immense performance and can be up to four feet long.

In conclusion, racing nitro remote control boats can be a fun sport or pastime activity. Always be sure to be careful and follow all the safety tips and rules to the letter so you do not get hurt. Remember, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Enough said, go out and enjoy your RC boat right now.
