Being a working artist, the lady artist also works as a gallery director. Majoring in art from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, this Hempfield Township resident discovered her talents in High school and has been active at the local art club since 1970. Her work is regularly exhibited at the art center. Silk screen printing also comes under her work area along with oils and pastels.

Member from a different art club invited her recently to demonstrate landscape pastel painting from a photograph. Her view is that beginners should not limit their work only to photographs. All starters should go out to feel the light and shadow’s nuances. This article is about paintings and more info found at senior portrait artists.

According to her, when someone works outside, they can absorb the details, sketch the actual scene, and take photographs which can be referred to later on. She normally does this. She uses several photographs to create a composite landscape. This technique is of exceeding use when the customer asks for certain elements that are not covered by a single photograph.

When a photograph is used as a reference for a painting, one can adjust the painting if he does not like something in the reference photograph. Deciding upon what is your painting most important part is up to you. Even though she does not normally use it, but a photograph helps decide how a painting would look like when it is finished.

She clicked a photo during the fall at the Slippery Rock, and painted a pastel portrait using an enlarged copy of the same. No part of the painting is covered by the frame since she does not draw edge to edge. She is able to do layering of colors by painting on the wrong side of the pastel sheet since that has low textures. You are reading valuable tips on paintings and can learn more at portrait painting commission.

She uses the blue and red hues to evoke dark logs and branches rising from the water. Bits of red that are not visible in the photograph are added to sections that need emphasis. Special care is exercised by her in exploiting the fact that pastels are the closest an artist can get to using pure pigment.

According to her, there are times when you need to stop and think about the color values. It is best not to use excess of light too soon. When pastel painting, one has the liberty to layer lighter shades over darker ones and unlike watercolors does not need to conserve the white areas. You just have to feel your way with pastels.

The color ranges should be used with a good degree of caution. Without having to mix different shades, one can get the right color by using today’s wide range of colors. Pastels allow the artist to wipe the color off and start over again if they do not like the result. It’s a very easy going medium.

For those who are searching Internet for info about the topic of heirloom organic seeds, then please go to the web site which is quoted in this paragraph.
