The Passionate Time Roaming Magician

The other night I had what is perhaps not only the strangest night of my life, but also the longest as well. I’m pretty certain you aren’t going to believe a word of this rambling diatribe, but nevertheless I shall continue with fortitude and dignity.

Often times, I’ll have a dream and experience maybe a minute or two of blurred reality, but the feeling usually goes away after second or two. Ever since that event, I’ve had that blurred feeling between reality and fantasy lingering around me like the smell of something peculiar that you just can’t get out of your clothes.

It all started when I saw the meteorite from my bedroom window. Two of my friends from the club came bursting into my bedroom, and looked as though they had just discovered the secret of alchemy, or even better. They said there was something happening downtown that I just had to see if I were to believe it. Off we went.

As it turns out, there happened to be a gentleman down at the local park performing some particularly impressive magic. Not to be left out, I followed them down to the park. I was amazed at what I saw. This guy that was doing the magic was dressed in clothing that he must have bought from a period shop for stage actors or something. He was wearing a top hat, and some kind of suit that appeared to be a genuine antique.

Then he looked me straight in the eye, called me by my name, and said that we have a journey to go on. I wasn’t quite sure what he was talking about, so I walked forward. He grabbed me by the arm, and the next thing I knew we were in downtown London. In 1623. I knew this because I asked him.

We spent what seemed like the next twelve hours wandering around town. I had no idea what individuals were saying, as the local vernacular was hopeless. He took me to this cluster of people that were waiting. They were waiting for me. That was his show. He was some kind of time trekker, and had quite a few magic shows going at once, throughout time. He would pop in and out of different shows and different times with different individuals. Next thing I knew, I was back at the park, only it was five minutes later, and not twelve hours. This is the first I’ve spoken of it. Now I can carry on with my work.
